Dilts Abstract

David Dilts, Ph.D., Oregon Health & Science University
"Understanding the linkages among mission, processes and metrics in running a core"

There is a large and growing body of literature about how to make processes more efficient, i.e., doing things right. Most of these efforts, however, don’t link specifically to other important dimensions of effectiveness for managing a research facility, namely: scientific importance, resource requirements and, most importantly, mission and vision of the core. In other words, doing the right things. This talk will discuss practical approaches which have been used successfully in medical research organizations to achieve both efficiency and effectiveness.
